Biographical overview

Donald John Trump was born in 1946 and is the fourth child in a family of five children. Little is known about his childhood, except that he suffered from hyperactivity, which led his parents to enroll him in a military academy when he reached adolescence so that his energies could be -dir-ected in a better way.

Having grown up in economically comfortable circumstances, he enrolled in the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania, then began his business career in 1968 at his wealthy father’s real-estate company, where he showed distinction in business under his father’s supervision.

In 1983, Trump ventured into the world of business on his own and began constructing skyscrapers, giving the first of them the name “Trump Tower,” followed by the construction of other towers that spread across New York City, all of them bearing his name. Although many of his companies went bankrupt, he boasted of his wealth and exaggerated it by ten billion dollars, even though reports cast doubt on this.

Psychologically, this also means that the man is characterized by stubbornness and the ability to overcome failures and achieve ambition, in addition to a love of risk in diverse economic projects (resorts, casinos, and others) in which he incurred large financial losses. Public image and personal life Trump is a showy personality who is, psychologically speaking, enamored with appearance and fame. For twelve years he hosted the reality television program “The Apprentice,” in which he tested a number of candidates seeking to join his giant companies.
Americans began calling him “The Donald,” the famous Trump, and his hairstyle became a symbol of business success during the 1980s. He is also fond of women. In 1977, he married the Czech-born model and athlete Ivana Zelnickova, with whom he had three children. In 1993 he married the American actress and television presenter Marla Ann Maples and had a daughter with her. In 2005 he married the Slovenian beauty and fashion model Melania Knauss, with whom he had their handsome child Barron, who appeared on the day of his inauguration as president of the United States.

Nevertheless, the scandals surrounding his relationships with women became a frequent topic of conversation among Americans. Main personality traits In light of this, and other information about his life—such as the fact that he presents himself in the way he wants people to see him—the most important traits of Trump’s personality can be identified as follows:

• Ambition and a drive to reach more than one peak of success.
• Activity accompanied by exceptional vitality.
• The ability to overcome failures.
• Showiness and love of public attention.
• Lack of tolerance. • Insistence on his own opinion.
• Speed in making decisions.

Approach to personality analysis There are multiple methods for studying personality, the most scientific of which use standardized psychological tests, structured and unstructured personal interviews, and instruments specific to personality. Among these is the “Big Five Factors” scale, which we were the first to translate into Arabic and publish in our textbook “Personality: Between Theory and Measurement,” and which has been applied in doctoral dissertations, as well as the “New Open Personality” scale.

Trump has not been subjected to any of these forms of analysis, and it would be impossible for him to undergo them now that he has become the official president of the state. However, this does not prevent an academic specializing in the psychology of personality from analyzing´-or-providing indicators about the personality of any head of state, given the difficulty of meeting him and subjecting him to a scientific study.
Such an analysis proceeds from the notion that personality is composed of three factors: observable behavior, thoughts, and emotions, to which can be added body language.

This is what has been monitored since Trump entered the nomination contests, and there was a prediction—based purely psychological data, contrary to the expectations of most political analysts—that he would win. The questions that now cause the greatest puzzlement and concern are:
• What is the real Trump?
• How does he think and how does his mind work?
• What type of president of the United States is he?
• And what will the world be like in the next four years?
