في 26 جانفي 2024 ، يوما قبل ذكرى الهولوكوست / المحرقة العالميّة ، نشر مجلس كهنة الصوت اليهودي من أجل السلام ( JVP ) صفحة كاملة كملحق في عدّة جرائد منها جريدة " النيويورك تايمز " و " الواشنطن بوست " . مضمونها هو رسالة مفتوحة إلى الرئيس بايدن .
تُستهلّ الرسالة المفتوحة ب " ككهنة أمريكيّين ، نكتب لك بأسى و غضب عميقين ". و متحدّثين عن دروس " الإبادة الجماعيّة التي إقترفها النظام النازيّبما في ذلك ضد ستّة ملايين من أسلافنا اليهود " ، كتب مجلس الكهنة ،
" بأسى ، سنذكر كذلك هذا كزمن ترتكب فيه إسرائيل إبادة جماعيّة ، بدعم و تحريض من الولايات المتّحدة الأمريكيّة . إنّنا مضطرّون إلى الحديث بوضوح أخلاقيّ عن ما يحدث للفلسطينيّين في هذه اللحظة بالذات . و لا نفعل ذلك رغم تاريخنا بل بسببه . نعرف عن تجربة عشناها في عظامنا ما يعنيه سماع المسؤولين الإسرائيليّين يجرّدون شعبا كاملا من إنسانيّته ، لنشاهد المجازر العسكريّة الإسرائيليّة الكبرى في حقّ عشرات آلاف الفلسطينيّين ، و لنشاهد كيف تدمّر إسرائيل تدميرا منهجيّا البنية التحتيّة و المؤسّسات الثقافيّة و الجامعات و المستشفيات ، و لنرى إسرائيل تمنع عمدا الغذاء و الدواء و الملاجئ عن اللاجئين ."
و تُختم الرسالة ب :
" إن كانت كلمات " لا يجب أن يحدث هذا مرّة أخرى مطلقا " ( Never Again ) لها أيّ معنى أبدا فيجب أن تعني " لا يجب أن يحدث هذا مرّة أخرى مطلقا لأيّ كان " . و إنّنا نسألك بحماس : رجاء ، شَرّف كلمة و روح الذكرى العالميّة للهولوكست بإستخدام موقعك لجلب إيقاف لإطلاق النار في هذا العنف التراجيديّ – و لوضع حدّ لمساعى محاصرة غزّة بإتّجاه بناء سلام عادل حقيقيّ لجميع الذين يعيشون بين النهر و البحر ."
هذه الرسالة هامة و جريئة و مُلهمة :
إنّها هامة لأنّها تفصح عن الحقيقة حول ما يجرى الآن بالذات . وهي تتّفق مع و تساعد على التصدّى للطريقة التي تستحضر بها إسرائيل و المدافعون عنها و حكّام الولايات المتّحدة ( الإمبرياليّون الليبراليّن و كذلك الفاشيّون المعادون للساميّة المنكرون للهولوكوست ) الهولوكوست و " مصالح الشعب اليهودي " للدفاع عن الإبادة الجماعيّة الإسرائيليّة في غزّة .
وهي جريئة ، كما وضع ذلك ريموند لوتا ، لأ،ّ نقد إسرائيل هو " السكّة الثالثة " في هذه البلاد الآن ( و في بقيّة ما يسمّى ب " العالم الحرّ " ) بالنسبة إلى حكّام الولايات المتّحدة – شيء متى لمستموه ، تحترقون أو تصابون بصعقة كهربائيّة . أنا متأكّد من أنّ الممضين على هذه الرسالة من مجلس كهنة الصوت اليهودي منأجل السلام ( JVP ) واعون بالأثمان التي دفعها أكاديميّون ( وصولا إلى الرئيس السابق لجامعة هارفارد ) لإخفاقهم في التعهّد بالولاء لإسرائيل و فرض هذا الولاء لها . و على ضوء هذا ، تحدّد هذه الرسالة معيارا هاما .
و هذه الرسالة ملهمة لأنّ تأويل " لا يجب أن يحدث هذا مرّة أخرى مطلقا " يصيب كبد الحقيقة الآن . و أجد الكثير الذى أشاطرهم فيه ، ليس في علاقة بإسرائيل فحسب بل في علاقة بما تحتاجه الإنسانيّة ، في تاكيد " " إن كانت كلمات " لا يجب أن يحدث هذا مرّة أخرى مطلقا " ( Never Again ) لها أيّ معنى أبدا فيجب أن تعني " لا يجب أن يحدث هذا مرّة أخرى مطلقا لأيّ كان " . و حتّى إن كان مجلس كهنة الصوت اليهودي من أجل السلام يصدر عن إطار فلسفي مغاير للإطار الذى يصدر عنه بوب أفاكيان ( BA ) ، القائد الثوريّ و مهندس اشيوعيّة الجديدة ، أعتقد أنّ موقفهم من الهولوكوست كجزء من قماش النجود الرائع الذى حدّده و رسّخه تأكيد بوب أفاكيان على أنّ الثورة التي تحتاجها الإنسانيّة لا يجب أن تسترشد بالثأر بل ببلوغ عالم خال من أيّ إضطهاد .
