THE HEART AND TONGUE CRY OUT OF LOVE
By Mahmoud Said Kawash
My beloved is in my heart
She struts between the two palates
If I caress her, she hides herself shyly and flees into the heavens
I try in vain to calm her down as she roams through my mind and blood.
My beloved lives dearly in my eyes,
And overflows with a love that is overwhelming and mad.
If she is hungry with me, she feeds on a passion that rivals the worlds,
But if she is thirsty, she overflows on me with the warmth of an embrace of passion.
My ghost communes with her ghost
My hand caresses her neck
And I sip kisses from her dewy lips
So I quench my thirst.
She hasn’t changed her affection since we met,
Not even for the blink of an eye.
May she never forget a warm embrace that embraced her,
While she was passionately yearning for it.
The heart cries out and the tongue expresses its love for her,
She has taken possession of my senses and my happiness,
And has become the destination of my soul and eyes.
May your morning and evening be filled with roses, happiness, perfume, and more!!
Who are you, O beautiful one, who!!
Who are you?
For God’s sake, tell me who you are?
And from which planet did you come to me?
