The ‘National Bureau for Defending Land and Resisting Settlements stated in its latest weekly report , that according to the ‘Times of Israel Newspaper,’ ‘The Israeli occupation government s settlement plans receive full American support, and adoption of its Zionist narrative. US House Speaker, Mike Johnson made a dangerous statement during a meeting held by Israeli PM Netanyahu last week in the Shiloh settlement, northeast of Ramallah in the central West Bank, accompanied by a number of Republican representatives.’ Johnson said that the USA recognizes Israel s historical right to sovereignty over the West Bank of the Jordan River, adding‘The Holy -script-ures teach that the mountains of Judea and Samaria were promised to the Jewish people, and they rightfully belong to them. But many around the world see it differently. This land is of great importance to our faith and to us. We stand fully with you.’ Johnson s statements were not the first in the Trump Administration.
US Ambassador Mike Huckabee had previously spoken last June, saying that Israel is too small and that Washington no longer fully supports the idea of establishing a Palestinian State. He proposed establishing that state elsewhere instead of demanding that Israel to do so, and suggested that a plot of land be allocated in one of the Muslim countries for the establishment of a Palestinian state instead of Israel demanded this, and the 69-year-old ambassador said, ‘Does it have to be in Judea and Samaria? i.e. The name the Israeli government uses to refer to the West Bank.
Meanwhile, Israeli threats from extremist ministers regarding the annexation of the occupied West Bank are escalating, as part of efforts to impose absolute control over the cities of the West Bank and parts of occupied East Jerusalem. In a provocative raid carried out by the Israeli FM, ‘the Tarsala site, accompanied by the so-called head of the West Bank settlement council ‘Yossi Dagan’ and a number of settlers,’ the raid was ‘with the aim of reviving settlements evacuated 20 years ago’ as part of the disengagement decision.
This came months after the cabinet approved the legalization of the settlement within the ‘Shomron settlement council’. Smotrich appeared in a photo taken in an abandoned building next to racist graffiti scrawled on its walls, including ‘Death to Arabs’ and ‘people of Israel are returning to Sanur.’ The ‘Shomron settlement council’ published the photo with ‘Death to Arabs,’ before later modifying it to remove the racist phrase.
Smotrich considered that ‘the Knesset s repeal of the ‘disengagement law’ and the cabinet s decision to establish 50 settlements, including the rebuilding of Sanur, express the Israeli people s confidence in the settlers and their appreciation for those who, dedicate their lives to settlement in our country.’
As part of the ongoing settlement plans within the systematic efforts of the occupying state to annex lands, the Israeli occupation forces have pasted copies of a ‘decision’ to transform areas of land in the Sabastia town, northwest of Nablus, into an ‘Israeli archaeological site’ on the village s pillars. According to the mayor of Sabastia, Moh’d Azem, the town s residents were surprised by the transforming areas of the town s land, which is considered one of the oldest and most important archaeological and historical sites in the West Bank, into an ‘Israeli archaeological site.’
The Sabastia Municipality condemned the decision issued by the Israeli occupation authorities, which stipulates the conversion of 1,775 dunams of the town s land,´-or-about a third of its area, in a step that is considered a continuation of the plan to Judaize the town and obliterate its national and cultural identity, within the framework of what is known as the ‘Samaria Garden settlement project’.
Meanwhile, the Masoudiya area is also exposed to the same plan, with the decision to consider the Masoudiya train station an ‘Israeli archaeological site’, as the occupation authorities pasted the decision in several places in the area during the current week.
