New: THE UNKNOWN LOVER
By Mahmoud Said Kawash

It was the first time I saw him
And it was the last
But he pulled me towards him strongly
I saw in his eyes the ghosts of love chasing me
He permeated me and inhabited my paths
His love was breezes that my breaths were addicted to
I wished to reach with him a moment that might declare my non-belonging to reason and thinking
A moment in which I might feel liberated and spontaneous
A moment in which I might live life as it should be, and as I wanted
I endured all those days that were counted as part of my life
I left everything and searched for that unknown man who inhabited me
In my journey to him, a moment took me, I fell from the hands of time, I remembered his voice as he spoke to me
His breath was blowing on my face as we danced together
And I travelled in his arms to the tunes of that quiet music
I forgot my sighs and left them to their natural state
And suddenly I did not find him in front of me
He left me in the hands of pain and then disappeared
A pain that exploded my energies and shattered all my possibilities
He reminded me of my journey to him
And here I am waiting for a moment to take me to the path of madness
A moment of a silent embrace
A look of love I see in his eyes by the light of a candle
Or even by the light of the moon
A moment that takes me to a man who burned me and reshaped me
He melted me and froze me when he left after I embraced life in him
He melted me and froze me and sent me to the ecstasy of death that revived me
I remember everything as if it were now
When I was leaning on the balcony of one of the celebration halls in front of the sea
In front of the last moment of sunset that I will leave and depart
The candles lit above caught my attention
The tables were lined up and lit without interest
No one knows what the candle lights tell
Only I know the secrets of those candles
Their sparkle lives in my eyes
And their crying are wishes and fleeting secrets
There I saw him walking proudly and with steady steps, very proud
His eyes were like the blackness of the night and its mystery
I remember that from the first moment I saw him, he tore me from myself
And to the sound of the soft melodies, his voice came to me
A voice with a sense of warmth that sent an ecstasy through my body that scattered all my parts
So he extended his hand to me that gathered me and I went with him and we danced until we were exhausted
I approached him, stuck to him, travelled with him to the world of dreams
I realised with him where the beginning and the end are
From his voice flowed a dignified wine that took me to the whole world in a moment that was my entire life
I felt while I was in his hands that he melted me in him and I was unable to tear myself away from him
He settled me in his chest
And when the musical melodies stopped, we stopped dancing and we sat
He talked for a long time and asked me many questions but I didn t know how to answer his talk
He held my hand
He tasted my shyness
I asked him why me?
He replied with all sweetness I have seen none but you
You were all women
I danced with you to all tunes and melodies
And I travelled in you and with you to the whole world
His voice was flowing with life, so sometimes I was with him
His eyes sparkled in the candlelight, so they looked like the sunset
And when I returned from my coma, he had left with her as she was disappearing
Since that meeting, his ghost has not left me and he remained a legend living inside me like the mysterious autumn with its stillness
I still do not know who he was and who he is except that he is the man who danced with me until I was drunk
That man with whom I crossed the boundaries of the heart
He left me to die while I was in the prime of life, so it was difficult for me to attend my funeral ceremonies
And I did not want to perish, so I remained alive
And my only consolation remained that a day might come when that place embraces us again
And here I am praying with dignity and calm, begging fate to bring me together with him again!!
