SEEDS OF WAITING
Poem by Mahmoud Said Kawash
Like a stranger floating within her, perhaps she will meet you one day
Without realising that she is drowning in you to the utmost-limit-s of drowning
Like a wave departing to you, dreaming of meeting you
She lies awake in his depths
No matter how the sunset colour persists among the folds of the clouds
She maintains her residence on the shores of waiting for you
And her mind actually refuses to impose your departure
And without reason,´-or-perhaps for hundreds of reasons
Her days will remain thirsty for you
Perhaps she will realise the day of meeting you, even if it is a of water
So she will turn the burning of her seasons into roses
The colours of the spring of life pulsating on her features
Here she plants seeds of waiting everywhere, watered by the wells of your memory
From them flow the moments of your existence
So the fires of longing are extinguished
Or perhaps a dream’s slumber overtakes them
So the stagnation of this absence is melted
For she has always loved to throw herself among the banks of your palms
Free the shackles of her prisoners
Tear down her walls
Departing to your anchorage
Secluded in your sanctuary
Embracing your love
Practicing the rituals of waiting for you
Repeating the hymns of your promises
Sufficed with a torrent of tears that carves between her features
A path for a new river
Perhaps she sees you coming with a distant dawn!!
