Ezbat hunting’s Club area turned to Al-Warraq Island new
Alexandria where clashes occurred between the police forces and the people of “Ezbat hunting"s Club” area because to refuse the citizens to leave their homes forcibly in a new series of displacement policy followed by Egyptian government to displace the people from their homes and sell those areas to investors, as happened in several areas including Al-Warraq Island and the Sixth District area in Nasr City both of them in Cairo, it is also noteworthy that the city of Alexandria witnessed several similar campaigns in several areas before the outbreak of the January Revolution like as the famous Toson area, known for its case with the People of Toson.
On Friday, hundreds of residents of the Ezbet Hunting’s Club in Alexandria organized a protest demonstration against the displacement from their homes to the Bashaayer Al-Khair area in the governorate and the officials ignored their demands. Security forces rained on the protesters by throwing tear gas then dispersing the endowment and arresting a number of people.
It is noted that the demands of the people are to clarify the transfer plan, the transfer mechanism for the various cases, which include: residential units with a rental system, housing units with ownership system, real estate ownership, shops, factories and workshops.
One of the lawyers told "Mada Masr" that the number of those arrested reached to 51 who are expected to be subjected to interrogation, some of them are detained in the central Security Camp in the Margham area and the others are unknown where they were detained.
Yesterday, the prosecution of Muharram Bek in Alexandria decided to imprison 13 from Ezbat hunting s Club people for 15 days on remand after they were charged with demonstrating, gathering, and incitement in addition to throwing stones on security forces resulting in the injury of a number of them.
On the objections Ezbat hunting’s Club people to the displacement plan, yesterday Major General Mahmoud El-Sherif, Governor of Alexandria commented in "the story" program presented by Amr Adib on channel Egypt MBC in Saudi Arabia, specifying that the reason for the displacement of people is that the area is a large slum area and people were affected by the accumulation of winter rains inside their homes.

Al-Sherif specified that the displacement plan is to transfer everyone who has a home´-or-ownership shop to get an alternative unit in the area "Bashaayer Al-Khair 3,5" which is 3 thousand Kilometers away from the area and that the total number of transferred homes is six thousand, 44 families while the number of new shops reached one thousand and eight shops and workshops.
A number of hunting Club s people described the governor s statement as lacking of credibility and accuracy explaining that with regard to displacement due to the problem of water accumulation within the area, it was solved after the development of the slums fund in governorate and the area did not suffer any problems during the last winter.
People also stressed that the population of the estate is not less than 15 thousand families and all of those who own residential´-or-commercial units in the area are not registered in the real estate registry because that area is an actual possession area.
It is worth noting that the governorate of Alexandria announced last March the development of seven areas in Alexandria including Ezbat hunting and the slums development fund has allocated 115 million pounds to develop the infrastructure.
At the time, Haitham Abu Al-Ezz Al-Hariri, a former member of the council of Representative requested a briefing to the Council stressing that the privatization of this millennium only was a waste of public money because the area must be planned and developed such as in "Grape Ghetto" area in the same governorate, the officials replying that those are the resources available to develop the area.
Al-Hariri told "Mada Masr" that what is happening in the Ezbat hunting s Club focuses the conflict and the inconsistency that exist in the country: "we are facing two countries, one of which is developing, building, maintaining the area, and other decided to demolish the area and sell it to the investors".
The minister of Housing speaking in last time to president Elsisi had announced the plan for the development of Alexandria and allocation its for the investors according to Al-Hariri like as the Ezbat hunting is located between Down Town area which it is moved out shortly and Nozha airport area in addition to Abis Tenth area, Hisham Talat Mustafa is likely to buy that area.

Conclusion
One reason for the population s refusal to leave their homes was that the available units did not match the value for the real units and some of them had no property contracts.
