The national Bureau for defending land and resisting settlements ( nbprs ) stated in its latest weekly report that Israeli settlers, especially the Hilltop Youth and the terrorist organizations living in the settlement outposts protected by the occupation army have begun to put the government before its coalition platform as they set up a ‘settlement outpost’ on the lands of Jurish village on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the death of their spiritual leader of the Religious Zionist Movement in Israel, Rabbi Haim Druckman.
The grandson of Rabbi Druckmann, who is considered one of the greatest instigators against the Arabs and the Palestinian people, participated in the establishment of the outpost, which the settlers called ‘Or Haim’ - the light of life, in addition to a number of his followers. The grandson said: ‘My grandfather fought all his life for every piece of land in the Land of Israel, and he was always on the side of those who fight for the land.
With the establishment of the settlement outpost, 5 families moved to live in it and chose its important location in order to cut off the geographic contiguity of the Palestinian territories. Many of the Hilltop bullies who helped establish it also moved into the outpost. The site on which the settlement outpost was established is considered very important, as it overlooks the road that crosses the northern occupied West Bank, which connects the Jordan Valley through the so-called Passing Samaria in the -dir-ection of Kafr Qassem, all the way to Tel Aviv.
It aims to prevent the geographical interdependence of the lands belonging to the Palestinians in the West Bank. This is the first settlement outpost to be established after the formation of the new government, and the media quoted the settlers who participated in its establishment as saying that the idea of establishing the outpost came to them with the death of the Rabbi of "Religious Zionism," Druckmann, ‘stressing that the best way to commemorate his memory is to establish a new settlement."
The Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, and the Minister of Finance, Bezalel Smotrich called on the Israeli Minister of Security, Yoav Gallant to refrain from evacuating the new settlement outpost, while the Israeli occupation police evacuated it after massive confrontations organized by the people in the village against the new outpost, where the people in the village of Jureish resisted its establishment, which prompted the Israeli Minister of Security Galant to issue an order to evacuate it in order to avoid further escalation and to contain regional and international reactions, explaining that every field work must be carried out in accordance with the law and in full coordination, and subject to an assessment of the security situation, in a conversation.
As for PM Netanyahu, who in the few weeks of his right-wing government found himself with his neo-fascist partners in a critical situation, he in turn tried to contain the situation and said in a statement issued by his office, commenting on the criticisms of Ben Gvir and Smotrich, who stressed that the evacuation of the outpost is a complete contradiction with the coalition agreements, which form the basis of the government s existence. The government supports Settlement only when it is done legally, and in prior coordination with the prime minister and the security services, which was not done in this case and that a discussion will take place on the issue at the beginning of next week, which is considered a delaying maneuver, waiting for the appropriate time.
Moreover, in Hebron, the Israeli Minister of Settlement and National Tasks, Orit Stroke toured a settlement farm south of the Hebron Hills. She told the settlers: "This government stands by you 100%." Stroke went to visit Alsheib Nahum, the owner of the settlement farm, who was injured in an operation that took place last week, with the aim of strengthening the settlers in the area, and she thanked God for the miracle that took place here in order to establish our presence in the "Land of Israel", according to her claims.
As for the village of Khan-Ahmar, which is threatened with demolition, Knesset members from the Likud party plan to tour the Bedouin village next Monday, with the aim of pressuring Netanyahu to work on its evacuation, this visit will take place before submitting the Israeli government’s response, before the Supreme Court, to the issue of whether´-or-not to evacuate the village on the first of next month, noting that this issue is very explosive among the right, and despite repeated promises to evacuate the village, Netanyahu, as he did in his previous governments.
Likewise, in the previous government led by Bennett-Lapid, it did not move to implement the eviction process, despite the promises made by some ministers. The Khan-Ahmar issue poses a challenge to Netanyahu, especially since the issue was relatively forgotten, despite the great incitement that accompanied it at the beginning of the events of its emergence. Likud MK Danny Danon, who himself will lead the delegation that will visit the Palestinian Bedouin village, said during the last meeting of his party faction in the Knesset that the response to the court should be to set a date for the evacuation of Al-Khan Al-Ahmar.
