Technology has taken us away from our reality

By Mohammad A Yousef (2021)

I spent some time with my mom in BEMO Bank as she had to activate her commercial account within allocated-limit-ed time.
I could not withstand the situation and asked my mom one certain question:Mom!Why don t you use our remote BEMO Banking service where you can activate her commercial account at home?

Mom replied:Why to? Why I would do that?
You do not have to wait in this queue for at least one hour to just activate your commercial account.
do you know that you can do a lot of services in the remote mode of internet.
Said I
In fact, I felt excited to tell her this piece of news.
She replied:If I do this ,I Will not step out of my house. In this case , Ray Bradbury would be correct in his -Pedestrian where everybody should stick to his home Stepping out of the house is a crime in modern society.
I explained that almost everything can be delivered door yo door.
She said:During this hour, I moved from home to the bank, met with several friends, and chatted with the bank staff.
You know I am alone...this is the company that I need. I like to get ready and come to the bank. I have enough time, it is the physical touch that I need.

Two years ago I got sick, The store owner from whom I buy fruits, came to see me and sat by my bedside and cried.

When your Dad fell down few days back while on her morning walk. Our local grocer saw him and immediately got his car to rush her home as he knows where I live.

Would I have that human touch if everything became online?

Why would I want everything delivered to me and force myself to interact with just my computer?

I like to know the person that I am dealing with and not just the seller . It creates bonds of Relationships.

I Write in several newspapers and magazines online , I have 3000 thousand article published worldwide and 40 specialised books published, but nobody phones meŽ-or-say thank you. Everything on the net is stiff , tough ,and unhuman. I feel it contradicts my life and mode of thinking.

Does Amazon deliver all this as well?
Technology isn t everything in this life. It is a major part but not everything.

I recommend that you spend time with people you love and reciprocate love .. Not with devices.
