Do Not Stop Dreaming
Poem : Hana al-Qadhi
Translation: Freeyad Ibrahim
*
In those nights
when you wake up panicked
strangled by the silence of your own room
lonely no company but your emptiness
And they…
were there
grow up, laugh, and suffer far away from you
Would you calm down a bit
rest and relax a bit
and get some
I dream..I dream a lot
For the dream is life
I dream that you were* there with them
Then the pain would leave you
and no more this long night would frighten you
*literally (are) is right, but after the dream (were) is preferable, (the same is true with-if-)
