Why entitled to the others, what is not entitled the Kurds
Kurds are un ancient nation in Middle East. They have lived for thousands of years in their areas of origin, which is called Kurdistan. Include parts of Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Syria, “Iranian Azerbaijan” and Armenia.
Unfortunately, there are no accurate statistics on the number of Kurds in the world-;- however, the estimates indicate the presence of approximately 35 to 40 million Kurds in the world. And half of them live in Turkey, make up about 20-25 % of the total population. And the remaining number is divided into other countries, such as Iran, Iraq and Syria. In addition to large numbers of Kurds have migrated to Europe, United States, Lebanon and Russia, due to political crises and repeated persecutions against them in their countries of origin.
The Kurdish people have suffered from repression and persecution in all countries of the Middle East. While most of the people in the world, have got what they wanted, and gained their independence. But the Kurds did not get their chance to establish their independent state, with the exception of some short periods of time, and in very-limit-ed geographic areas, as in the so-called, the Republic of " Mahabad 1946 - 1947" in Iran.
This is for sure a natural right, and cannot be refused´-or-stand against it. But it is really amazing to deprive the Kurdish people of this right threw the history, because whenever the Kurds demanded, the right to establish their independent state, we find someone screaming and making a lot of noise-;- even though the demand is legitimate rights as we mentioned.
It seems that what is legitimate right for others are forbidden to the Kurds ,´-or-it is a taboo that cannot utter and permit them, while for others is acceptable, and even desirable, as in the case of " Kosovo, East Timor & South Sudan,". Amazingly some of them were not even have the land on which they live, as in the case of “Kosovo "-;- Yet endorsed by all Arab states, along with the Arab League and the Islamic Conference of the States.
The question that always comes to mind, why antagonize most of Arabs the Kurdish dream project-;- what if the majority of people in Iraq where Kurds, and the Arabs make up only a minority not to exceed 10-15 %? Don’t you think that the Arab states would support their fellow Arabs to establish their independent state, as defending and supporting the establishment of the state today for the Arabs in “Ahvaz - Iran".
Fortunately, the situation in the world has changed now, because the time of the rebellion and disobedience is no longer useful as far as stating how to put things in civilized ways. And the danger posed by the governments and authoritarian regimes, no longer exists. And the despicable attempts that were trying to blur the Kurdish identity and to paint it with contaminate ideas, no longer exist as well.
It seems very clearly today, that the will of the people is stronger and very dominant, and their will to live in freedom, honor and dignity will prevail no matter what in the end. In addition to that, it is becoming very certain to the Persians, Turks and the Arabs, that the will of the Kurdish people cannot be invincible, because the Kurds has great ability to withstand, cope and manage things better than most of the nations in the erea. I could say without exaggeration that the Kurds could reach to the high standard of civilized nation, parallel to some civilized countries, especially in the presence of political stability, social peace and sustainable economic growth.
I have no doubt that the government in the province of Kurdistan is keen on the economic boom-;- working very hard by all means in this regard, proving their ability to survive in spite of all the difficult challenges faced by both internally and externally. Therefore, many economists expected the arrival of Iraqi Kurdistan to the ranks of civilized regions in the next ten years. And to promote this goal, the strategic vision of Iraqi Kurdistan by 2020 is to be a territory ahead of other territories in the region (if we assume for survival within the federal state),´-or-a very developed country, in economic, social, cultural, justice, moral ideals, political stability, popular participation, quality of life and the integrity of the government.
In fact, the existence of huge amounts of oil and gas in Kurdistan-;- is a great chance for the Kurdish government to improve their future goals, hoping that would benefit the people in Kurdistan and the surrounding countries.
Certainly the province needs to precede the Renaissance and the consideration for the future to safeguard the dignity of the Kurdish people and other minorities living in the region for the sacrifices they made to this day.
Of course we cannot forget the dispute between the province and Baghdad, one of the points of friction which remain disputed in recent decades, between the two parties, but capable of negotiations. And we do not expect things go through, smoothly and easily-;- but it is well known that, “Rights are taken, not given".
