Law is...
(Excuse me Auden...)

Mohammad A. Yousef (poetry)

Law is the sturdy backbone of society,
For nature, it sets boundaries, protects harmony.
For the farmer, it safeguards his fields and his crop,
Ensuring fairness and justice, it never stops.

For the taxi driver, it guides his way,
Keeps order on the roads, night and day.
For the lawyer, it s the language of their trade,
Seeking truth and justice, never to evade.

For the juryman, it s a weighty responsibility,
To weigh evidence and decide impartially.
For the poet, it s the freedom to express,
Words that inspire, uplift, and impress.

For the student, it shapes their path and their mind,
Teaching respect, equality, and being kind.
For the military, it governs their honorable duty,
To protect and defend, with courage and unity.

For the single woman, it grants her equal rights,
To live freely, without fearī-or-unjust fights.
For the adult man and woman, it binds them in law,
Promising fairness, respect, and so much more.

For the teacher, it empowers knowledge to impart,
Guiding the young minds, nurturing their heart.
For the religious man, it protects his sacred ground,
Granting freedom to worship, profound.

For the dancer, it sets the stage and the rules,
Enabling graceful movements, like mystical jewels.
For the musician, it safeguards their artistic voice,
Creating melodies that make our hearts rejoice.

For the lover, it ensures love s sanctity,
Building trust, loyalty, and fidelity.
For the university professor, it fuels intellectual fire,
Exploring ideas, pushing boundaries higher.

For corrupted people, it stands as their foe,
Unmasking their deceit, letting truth show.
For thieves, it holds them accountable for their crimes,
Restoring justice, healing wounds, and hard times.

For me, it s a reminder of my rights and my worth,
To live in a world where justice gives birth.
Law is the foundation on which we all depend,
A beacon of hope, our freedoms it defends.

Law is the foundation of justice,
A pillar for nature s balance,
Guiding the farmer s toil,
And the taxi driver s route.

Law is the voice of reason,
Echoing through the courtroom,
Fighting for the lawyer s cause,
And guiding the jury s decision.

Law is the ink of inspiration,
Flowing through the poet s pen,
Weaving words of truth and beauty,
And igniting hearts with wisdom.

Law is the path of knowledge,
Lighting the student s way,
Empowering minds to seek,
And shaping futures with certainty.

Law is the shield of protection,
Guarding the military s honor,
Defending freedom with valor,
And preserving peace for all.

Law is the strength of independence,
Embracing the single woman s rights,
Empowering her to stand tall,
And conquer the world on her own.

Law is the bond of unity,
Uniting adult men and women,
Recognizing their love and commitment,
And granting them the gift of marriage.

Law is the guide of education,
Nurturing the teacher s mission,
Inspiring young minds to thrive,
And shaping generations for progress.

Law is the compass of faith,
Guiding the religious man s devotion,
Upholding his beliefs and rituals,
And nurturing his spiritual journey.

Law is the rhythm of expression,
Embracing the dancer s art,
Setting their bodies free,
And telling stories without words.

Law is the harmony of melodies,
Guiding the musician s creation,
Allowing notes to come alive,
And stirring souls with emotion.

Law is the sanctuary of trust,
Uniting lovers in sacred vows,
Protecting their hearts and desires,
And nurturing their eternal bond.

Law is the realm of intellect,
Guiding the university professor s path,
Enlightening minds with knowledge,
And shaping the minds of tomorrow.

Law is the sword against corruption,
Fighting for justice s reign,
Condemning deceit and greed,
And upholding integrity s name.

Law is the scales of fairness,
Balancing the rights and wrongs,
Punishing the thieves who steal,
And protecting those who suffer.

Law is the mirror of society,
Reflecting the values we hold dear,
Shaping our lives and actions,
And defining who we are.

Law is the compass that guides,
In this world, vast and complex,
A beacon of justice and order,
For me, for you, for all.

Law is the sturdy backbone of society,
For nature, it preserves the delicate balance,
For farmer, it safeguards the fruits of labor,
For taxi driver, it grants a fair path to travel.

For lawyer, it is the instrument of justice,
For a jury man, it is the guide to truth,
For the poet, it is the muse of inspiration,
For the student, it shapes a future of potential.

For the military, it upholds honor and duty,
For a single woman, it shields against harm,
For an adult man and woman, it binds in -union-,
For the teacher, it imparts knowledge and wisdom.

For the religious man, it protects sacred beliefs,
For the dancer, it sets the rhythm of expression,
For the musician, it orchestrates harmonious melodies,
For a lover, it defines the boundaries of devotion.

For a university professor, it nurtures intellect,
For corrupted people, it demands accountability,
For thieves, it metes out retribution,
For me, it offers a sanctuary of rights.

Law is the guardian, the advocate of all,
In its vast reach, it touches every soul,
It binds us together with its impartial reign,
A shield against chaos, a beacon of justice.
