Poem by Mahmoud Said Kawash
THE DEPARTURE BELL Rang
The departure bell rang
I got lost with my wind sails
All orbits of the meeting were closed
I am a woman who does not stay long in the cities of hope
I usually migrate alone to my old dictionaries
The dictionaries inhabited by the remains of a wounded heart
Carried by the statue of a woman
Inhabited all the citizens of love
Wandered through all the paths of madness
Waiting for that last minute
Perhaps one day you will be satisfied with the love between my palms
Or with the palms themselves
I will close all my indexes
And drown in one last prayer upon you
Yes the departure bell rang.
