Recently members of the Council of the European ---union--- supported the appointment of Laura Koveshi to the post of head of the European prosecutor s office ,She is the first person to occupy a leadership position in a newly created structure.
The scale of the "wrecking" of the National Anti-Corruption Administration under the leadership of Koveshi is impressive: in just one year 2016, 1270 corruption cases brought against top-ranking officials were brought to court: including 2 ministers, 6 senators, 11 deputies, 47 mayors, 16 senior officials of the prosecutor s office and the courts, 21 heads of state enterprises. 667 million euros were returned to the treasury, two real estate in France (3.5 million euros) and two villas in Spain (500 thousand euros) were also confiscated .
Laura Koveshi sent so many powerful thieves to the prison that queues lined up from those who wanted to testify against her ,so The EU has long existed a structure that is trying to cope with the theft of national ruling elites, the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF), however, subordination does not allow this structure to act effectively.
According to the plans, the European prosecutor s office will open in 2020 in Luxembourg, 20 EU countries will participate in its creation. Each country will send one prosecutor to the agency. Later, other EU states may join the work of the prosecutor s office.
For Brussels, Laura Kovesi is both a symbol of the struggle of the Romanian people with their own corrupt power, and a symbol of the democracy of the European ---union--- it self.
Laura Kovesi, honest character and a position won on professional merit, Congratulations from the heart, for the persistence of being a worthy man, despite all the harassment and pressure .
