Change and our civil society/ the approach towards change

I am writing here few opinions about this critical subject that have a very high impact on our society specifically in Iraq and other Arab countries in general due to traits and characteristics simulations. A flashback on previous articles that outlined two main issues relating to the change subject were shortly presented the society relation with culture and fear. Culture represents the cornerstone of our mindset despite if we are in cities, towns´-or-living on the outskirts.
Change is a continuous operation that affects everything. This affection encompasses our earth, our galaxy, and the universe.

Then, it is happening in a way´-or-in another but the difference is going to be on scaling this affection’s impact, type of it in case it will be considered positive´-or-negative, the rate of the affection result compared with others at the same interventions. Though if we want´-or-don’t is a matter of accepting the change, adapting it and how to let ourselves approach this change to handle its impact instead of letting it comes and go through our old weak inherited traditions and cultural basics. As we know that each society has its specific cultural and traditions which are considered as they are previous generations assembled a group of solutions, opinions, and ideas towards different problems´-or-the way of doing things in that time. Simply, at that time there weren’t many interventions that exist today and require new and different ideas, opinions and ways to deal with them. A simple and easy illustration of this conclusion is embedded in this example:

“When you need to travel from city to another city (despite the short distance location), then you will use either your car´-or-public transportation´-or-an airplane. In you will be under comedy criticism if you will pick a horse´-or-any other rudimentary transportation apparatus”.

However, most of us can review the development and technological interactions in our life during the past 30 years and specifically during the last decade where the technology development acceleration shows its high speed. Most of this development can be found in our own pockets and wallets and homes were laptops, mobile phones, credit cards and other gadgets are performing on our behalf and operated by ourselves´-or-they can be programmed to do a specific action.
This wide range of interaction is accepted by most of the people as it makes life easier for them to participate its events on a daily basis. Of course there still upcoming development and improvement stages for our infrastructure but until now there wasn’t a big change happened to our cultural and basic infrastructure in contrast with our services infrastructure, mobile phones, and laptops, I-pads in particular. The question here is why??

This question will have a particular article as it represents the main course of our personality and characteristics that manipulate our concepts, decision making, and our lives’ aspects. Though, to continue this article about the approach towards change. And as we aforementioned that approaching to the change is better from awaiting its impact, where older generations have to understand fully the need for their new generation to be open minded towards others accepting their characteristics, customs, habits, and other related cultural concepts.

While they in the same time can filter and refine those communities features and approve what is useful to be undertaken by the society as a new adaption towards development. This step had been undertaken by different communities around the world through history. However, it is not accurate to describe that their adoption implementation occurred correctly. Here is a stopping point to analyze and understand the failure reasons to rebuild a new process in this regard.

I am not saying it is easy as most of the fear of change is coming from the past linked to future inside the decision maker when he consider this change as a big shift in their grandfather s habits and customs specifically those cultural and religious traits that may consider as “Shame” in some communities and may consider “Bravery” in others. So that approaching to the change will be better to adopt new characteristics to our community in order to make life easier that it is today, to give them more chances to live and raise their new generation outside of the tradition prison bars.

Teachers, maybe the main society stake that contributes to this approach as they should be leaders in teaching, advising and raising children in schools. An organized syllabus from the respectful authority will give them the authority to do so. This respectful authority either to be part of the political system´-or-the cultural system if we want to feel and touch an accelerating pace in this regard as nothing will be done if this authority will be chained and the implementation will take place on the shelf.
