THE SILENCE

****************
Peace be upon silence
I am prowling about in your empty pathways
And I doubt your internal intentions
And I plant question marks
And stretch my hand to open the door of happiness
I feel remorseful
When you rebelled against the dwellings of my kingdom
And the wolves whom you taught howling
I sanctify their flames
Their eternal fire
Sunk deep in misgivings
Around your everlasting palaces
***
Welcome to authority
I slaughter the birds of paradise
And throw the rest into the bottom of the hellfire
I close the doors of the sun
And fill up the graves of the rebellion
I kiss your silver dagger
Kiss the palms of your hands
which is full of legends
We were with the devil
Planning for an eternal war
***
Pardon me
I didn’t prostrate to your idols and guillotines
I shall come regretfully, humiliated
And raise the cup of silence
I kneel in the gods’ councils
I revolt against the apostates
who abandoned obedience to you
In order not to step upon your sacred thresholds
And wash their feet with the water of rebillion
***
O, you Authority!
Right from the cradle I ascertained your sanctity
From the mosques I have learned to listen intently
And memorize your Sacred Book
closely packed along the shelves of hush
I am coming to you
to smash the mouths of those
who have given up obeying you
So that they could not pass the apple tree
Here! I am coming forth
With all my organs, soul and all
to keep quiet
to be silent
Forever
