On the recent activation of the vile Islamic movement on the pretext of the ‘Muhammad video’



A wave of barbaric acts has been unleashed by Islamic gangs in the Middle East and North Africa in recent days, coinciding with the anniversary of September 11. The pretext of these stick-waving mobs is the publication of a banal video against Islam, whose viewpoints are as reactionary and vile as those of political Islam.



The vicious demonstrations and attacks of the Islamic thugs on US and Western embassies, and on liquor stores and so on, have claimed several lives. The aim of the Islamists through these barbaric acts is to raise again the shabby anti-western banner that was swept away from the scene by the revolutions in the Middle East and North Africa. They are trying to assert their power by intimidation and to recover the lost position of political Islam during the war of Islamic terrorism and the West s state terrorism following September 11. The US and other Western governments, and the pro-Western Islamic movements such as the Muslim Brotherhood, take advantage of the reactivation of political Islam to consolidate the position of "moderate Islam" and to push back the people who made revolution against both camps of the war of terrorists. Once again we see how these two reactionary poles are strengthening and legitimising each other.



The recent club-wielding and criminal attacks by the political Islamic movement must be categorically condemned by people across the world. We must not let the recent activation of political Islam on the pretext of that reactionary video to throw even the slightest shadow of doubt over the unconditional freedom of criticising Islam and Muhammad or ridiculing religions, sanctities and religious taboos. We must not let the activation of political Islam and its confrontation with Western governments to harm the struggle and revolution of the people in the Middle East and North Africa, which is aiming precisely to get rid of all these forces. We must in full force fight for a free and equal world where control is in people’s own hands and where these reactionary zombies have become history.
