Peace be upon you, Jerusalem

The morning of Jerusalem waggles on a carpet
of fine silk and brocades
When the birds warble
its violet mouth becomes tender
the blossoms of citrons are the early prayer
the minarets, the masterpiece of the creator, down with the attributes of Allah, over the orchards and the groves of fig trees,
the coffee cups, the coffee drink are a mawal(1) which hug
the ancient balconies
the anklet is the blossoms pomegranates

On the bank of Jerusalem, the history was written and the fragments
of the cosmos were implanted,
the Arameans, the Canaanites and the Greeks passed from here,
and Jerusalem remained an immaculate face, inlaid with the silver of the moon,
Jerusalem is the tongue of the universe, where cuneiform -script-,
Aramaic and Semitic were coined
A whisper which grows on the flute
the dignities sprout at the thresholds of Jerusalem,
Jerusalem is the twin of ash-Sham(2)
and the sister of the Christ,
guarded by Al-Rahaman(3

Jerusalem is a city with seven doors open to the sky
narcissus is the earrings of the dome, whereon the angels
Mount Olivet is a bride on a velvet howdah
Al-Aqsa is the nail of Allah in Jerusalem
the church is a gorgeous belle with braids,
which extends between two stones
Jacob’s Well is water with petals which expiates the sins
Jabel Al-Mukaber(4) is an ongoing charity, as if it were a shepherd’s oboe,
Wadi Qadron is the magic of reality,

Jerusalem is the dame of cities
the gardens of hers are paces, but without any weariness, as if they were a prayer rug
the pathways of hers are the pillows of the soul that nymphs decorate
as if they were a grip of light
Jerusalem is the addax and the mole of the tribes
it is the natant moon at sunset, a green full moon,
Jerusalem is the rose of the Eid brownish red buds
the twigs of fig trees and blueberries sway behind the walls of Jerusalem,
Like a string drunk by melodies

Jerusalem is as if it were the gospel of the poor
Studded with the birds of heaven
Jerusalem is a poem ended up with neither apples´-or-niche
it is the only who paints the rain spring
Jerusalem is a gorgeous bride with a crown of dilly and a necklace
of the water of the heart
peace be upon that land and upon its pure sap
it was born to remain the prophecy of honor and the Iwan for Pride

For time and some, the waves of Jerusalem left their see,
and the seagulls moaned
the daytime died and the light vanished
and behind the walls of demise
the poem swallowed its tomb
only the deportees are stray footsteps,
a dying certitude and dresses suspended by the sky
the women languish the pain and the wail rolls them above the string of the mire
the deportees while the women still chew the heartbreak and grief

The exploits of the fiery soil hide behind the cloak of whiteness
it snaps the corpses of the water’s boughs
as if the mosque were deserted balconies, without a defender
crystal spiders bleed lavas
Oh Muslims, press on the winds, then the black salt enters into the choir of the dead
cry your weakness! Cast your sorrow towards faith!

The city became a lugubrious heart with a pigtail of birds
a clattered sail extends, as a strand of blood, at the edge of the cracked time
the walls flack off in the dreariness of the shining light
the shadow snoozes on the tattoo of the water
in the well of darkness, the clusters of salt shake hands with the demise
the paths flee and say Jehovah
the books of slaughtering flow from the black holes, like
a blind garment dressed up by the Satan
